The Kane County Leaders Summit is an annual event hosted by Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen that brings together leaders in business, government, education and nonprofit organizations. The event features world class keynote speakers, roundtable discussion from industry and government experts and is highlighted by the presentation of the annual Sparkler Awards, which recognize achievement in the categories of innovation, partnership and business.

Kane County took a brave step into the digital age during the 2016 Kane County Leaders Summit at the Q Center in St. Charles. The summit brought together a number of powerhouse speakers and panelists, but the key piece of information might have been the formal unveiling of Kane County's 47 miles of fiber optic cable. One of the objectives of Kane County�s 2015 Leaders Summit at the Q Center was to connect local government and private sector leaders with key leaders in the state of Illinois under then newly elected Gov. Bruce Rauner.
A second objective was to look at trends in housing and development as the economy began to edge out of a longstanding recession. The summit was a success in both categories, bringing to the table powerhouse keynote speaker Christopher Coes , a nationally known leader of Smart Growth America as well as IDOT Secretary Randy Blankenhorn, state DCEO Director Jim Schultz and then DCEO Director Jim Schultz.
